The only creature in this book the Hollow Court has publicly named. Whole companies enter the southern swamps and do not emerge. What waits there hunts alone, and has for a very long time.

The Court’s warning names it Veldrich, and offers nothing else — not what it is, not what it was, not why the East, which explains nothing, chose to explain this much.
